Fatigue can be put down as the number 1 factor for Elliot's sub-par effort at Box Hill on Sunday evening, which nearly cost him top spot on the Goodfun Games ladder. Deciding to play in round 11 despite a very tiring 'Belated Valentine's Celebration' the previous night at an inner east lodge, Elliot's lack of focus was evident from the start. In game 1 he bowled his worst score of the competition, failing to reach 100 for the first time in probably a decade. Michelle launched her comeback opening with a 133, but failed to impress from there onwards. Mike ran away with game 2 with a nice 149, while Elliot came in second, still struggling with a 127. Game 3 looked like being even worse for the big fella, placed on 77 after 7 frames. It was only a last minute resurgence which saw him salvage the game, 2 spares and 2 strikes giving him 142. Elliot just holds on to the top spot on the table, 2.6 points ahead of John. Mike moves into third spot with 3 solid games, while Sarah's consistent run puts her just ahead of Ross. |
